Schenectady Building Collaborative

Habitat of Schenectady has taken the reins to spearhead a City Revitalization Building Collaborative with our friends at Better Neighborhoods and Community Land Trust, to build our homes on the same street at the same time. This plan will allow for numerous and efficient community benefits which will effectively speed up the neighborhood revitalization process and provide more homes for more families.

Our first targeted site will be Emmett St. in the heart of Hamilton Hill. Better Neighborhoods is planning a large scale renovation of both owner occupied homes and rental units. The Land Trust will be finishing their home and Habitat will build a brand new home next door to the Land Trust home. As a result of our close proximity to each other, we anticipate being able to move new families into these homes at about the same time. All three organizations will help to transform the neighborhood at the same time.
